Monterey Style
Monterey Style is a simplified Classical mode made famous by adobe, wood, and shingle houses in Monterey, California from the mid-19th century. The Larkin house is the most famous early example. A revival occured in the 1920s and later. Overhanging balconies, tall doors and windows with shutters, white plaster walls, and long porches are signature features. It is similar to simplified Colonial and Country styles.
