Houseplans.com was purchased in May 2007 with a new vision in mind:
To make quality home design affordable by using the resources of the Web to streamline a complex process.
A likeminded group has come together around this new vision:
Dan Gregory, Editor-in-Chief. For Dan - former Home Editor of Sunset magazine, author of Cliff May and the Modern Ranch House (Rizzoli, 2008), with a Ph. D. in architectural history from the University of California at Berkeley -- design is an essential part of everyday life. Dan is responsible for all content.
Nicholas Lee, Chief-of-Design. A graduate from the University of Oregon architecture program -- he's also an artist, lighting designer, and trombone player. Nicholas manages our design process.
Ting Li, Manager of Web Development. Ting was born in China and came to the U. S. for college. She received a Master of Computer and Information Sciences degree from the University of Alabama and brings discipline and technical expertise to her role in managing our websites.
Arend Spaeth, Director of Sales - Graduated from CSU Chico in 2003 with a BS in Business Administration. He runs sales and works closely with Dan Gregory on architect and designer services.
Doug Tinker, Investor and Member of the Management Committee. As the Chief Operating Officer of Kransco, Doug purchased and built over 20 branded consumer products companies, including Camelbak, Yakima, Power Wheels, Whamo, and Boogie Board. Doug is a graduate of the University of Oregon.
Stephen Williamson, Lead Investor, Managing Member & Chairman. Stephen brings his brand building experience as former Chairman and CEO of Odwalla, the largest high quality fruit juice company in the US. Stephen spent 8 years on Wall Street at First Boston. Stephen is Chairman of Avenal Land & Oil Company. Stephen graduated from the University of California at Berkeley.
