It’s such an important part of everyday life, rooted in deep history, yet constantly needing to evolve to meet the needs of contemporary culture. Oakhurst designs original, classic homes for walkable neighborhoods, based on historic typologies and designed for modern living. We strive to strike the balance between what’s new, relevant, and on trend, while understanding that home must be timeless, must last a lifetime, and must be respectful to neighbors and the environment. Oakhurst provides the home owner and the home builder with the right tools to communicate, document, and build the home. Good design, good planning, and good communication are keys to a successful new home. Ian Hoffman started Oakhurst after years as a residential architect working on high-end home renovations and new construction. Unsatisfied with a business model that only catered to the wealthy, Ian launched Oakhurst to enable a middle-class family building a reasonable home to afford an architecturally designed house that is smart, humble, and beautiful.
