This award-winning home by Visbeen Architects provides generously for larger families with great outdoor areas that encourage seasonal living and large-scale entertaining. Two entrances, one more formal than the other, showcase the exquisite elevation at the front of the home. A third entrance from the three-car garage handles casual traffic, leading directly into a large landing area for homecoming family members. More than a mudroom, this useful space includes an office, laundry and garment room, and multiple deep closets. A secluded bedroom and bath are located half a flight down from the main level. Practically appointed, the kitchen features lots of prep room, an island that doubles as a casual table, and a separate lounge area. Showcasing a beautiful two-sided fireplace and views of the surrounding property, the dining room puts formal entertaining at the heart of the plan. The second floor is home to bedrooms, a study, a cozy family room, and a play area. Find your soothing retreat in the master suite, filled with everyday luxuries such as walk-in closets, a steam shower, and a private patio. An optional recreation room on the top floor has plenty of room for games and a built-in wet bar. Packed with cottage attributes, this Visbeen Architects home features an open floor plan without sacrificing intimate spaces. Opening to the kitchen and a double-sided fireplace, the dining room features a relaxing lounge area. Abundant outdoor living space is accessible from throughout the first floor. The second floor features a spacious master suite, a children’s suite, and a whimsical playroom area. Two additional bedrooms open to a shared bath. This home won first place at the 2008 American Residential Design Awards in the Custom Luxury category.

FAQs

Are designs on Houseplans ready to submit to my building department for permitting?

It depends on where you're building. Our plans contain enough information for a professional builder to construct your home, but your local government may require additional information before permitting. We strongly advise that you talk with your builder before you get started. If you are building for yourself, we recommend visiting your local building department to start your diligence. Read more here.

Can I make changes to a plan?

Absolutely! Our modification service allows you to customize almost anything - whether it's adding an extra garage bay, adjusting square footage, changing the roof pitch, or more, the plan modification service is a great value and can be completed quickly. Additionally, if you purchase an electronic plan set (PDF or CAD), you may have the option to make changes locally. CAD files offer the most flexibility for custom edits. Just let us know what you're thinking, and we’ll provide an estimate and timeframe to get started. Learn more here.

How much does a house cost to build?

Find out! Build costs vary based on the size of the home, materials used, and local rates for goods and labor. Our Cost to Build report is a great way to get some basic costs dialed in before you order your plans.
