Located on the Pt. Reyes peninsula along the Northern California coast, this small 260 square foot building, Plan 889-3, was designed to support a large group of children for a yearly family summer camp. The structure is sited amongst a cluster of farm buildings and is inspired by the environment of the pastoral dairy farm.

The Bath House provides welcoming and comfortable amenities for the nearby tent platforms/sleeping quarters. The design concept embraces a fun, whimsical and practical character that evokes the rural quality of the property. Non-corrosive and wear-resistant materials were used including galvanized sheet metal, sealed board and batt siding, and painted plywood and MDO board.

This design includes a bedroom off the porch at the back.

Another version -- Plan 889-1, shown below -- has a storage room in place of the bedroom and a front porch but no wrap-around porch.

These compelling structures could easily be adapted as micro-cottages for in-law or granny units and are comparable to Katrina Cottages and Tiny Houses. To browse a collection of very small house plans click here.
