Huntington Beach, Calif.-based California Faucets said its newly introduced ZeroDrain is the world’s first drain that pops down with the touch of a finger, rather than with the standard lift rod.
“Installing a standard pop-up drain with a decorative faucet is like wearing sneakers with a tux,” said Noah Taft, senior VP marketing and sales at the company. “Anyone who has installed a standard pop-up drain knows how frustrating and time consuming it can be. But installing ZeroDrain is fast and easy.”
Designed for mid-level to luxury baths, ZeroDrain is much easier to look at because it has a cleaner look that sits flush with the sink, the company said. It features a piston design that seals the drain. Press stopper into the closed position and allow water to fill the sink; press it again to release the water.
More than just looks, ZeroDrain is easy to maintain and to clean. “Simply pull out the stopper, rinse and reinsert,” the company said. It’s also easy to install, eliminating the need for a rod-and-clip system. Instead, it has two simple components that take the average person two minutes or less to install, the company explained.“
With ZeroDrain, we’ve again turned something utilitarian into a design element,” Taft said. “We believe it will create a higher level of expectation in a category consumers didn’t realize they could expect more from.”
The product is priced at $129, or $61 when purchased with one of the company’s products.
