The Urban Infill: Sophisticated Modern Living for Narrow Lots Designed for the discerning urbanite, this contemporary residence proves that a narrow footprint can deliver expansive luxury. The journey begins under a graceful porte cochere, a practical yet elegant solution for city parking that leads into a home defined by light and verticality. Upon entry, a sun-drenched stairwell sets an airy tone, immediately guiding the eye toward the heart of the home. The main level is a masterclass in open-concept design, where the kitchen, dining, and living areas flow seamlessly together. Triple glass doors and floor-to-ceiling windows dissolve the boundary between indoors and out, framing views of the backyard and flooding the space with natural light. Outside, a metal trellis adds a touch of architectural intrigue to the rear porch, creating an ideal setting for quiet evenings and alfresco dining. Ascending to the second level, a glass-encased landing offers a moment of pause and a unique perspective over the gardens below. This floor is dedicated to rest and privacy, featuring two thoughtfully designed en-suite bedrooms. The primary suite serves as a true sanctuary, oriented toward the backyard for maximum serenity. Its spa-inspired bath, complete with a freestanding soaking tub and a generous walk-in closet, provides a daily retreat from the pace of modern life. With its clever use of space and sophisticated aesthetic, this home is more than a residence—it is a tailored lifestyle solution for the modern urban landscape.

FAQs

Are designs on Houseplans ready to submit to my building department for permitting?

It depends on where you're building. Our plans contain enough information for a professional builder to construct your home, but your local government may require additional information before permitting. We strongly advise that you talk with your builder before you get started. If you are building for yourself, we recommend visiting your local building department to start your diligence. Read more here.

Can I make changes to a plan?

Absolutely! Our modification service allows you to customize almost anything - whether it's adding an extra garage bay, adjusting square footage, changing the roof pitch, or more, the plan modification service is a great value and can be completed quickly. Additionally, if you purchase an electronic plan set (PDF or CAD), you may have the option to make changes locally. CAD files offer the most flexibility for custom edits. Just let us know what you're thinking, and we’ll provide an estimate and timeframe to get started. Learn more here.
