We define a small house plan as any home design under 2,000 sq. ft. 2,000 sq. ft. farmhouse plans blur the line between small and medium-sized plans, and can work well if you have a tight budget.
The majority of the floor plans below offer three bedrooms, which happens to be our most popular bedroom configuration. Why? Because three-bedroom house plans generally offer a small to medium square footage, which (typically) makes them cheaper to build than larger homes. At the same time, three-bedroom designs present homeowners with options. Maybe you need two bedrooms and a home office, or one bedroom and two home offices, or one bedroom, a home office, and a gym. Whatever the case may be, a three-bedroom home design offers flexibility within an affordable footprint.
Need four bedrooms instead? You'll notice some four-bedroom farmhouse plans below as well. What's more, all of our house plans can be customized. So you could potentially turn a three-bedroom design into a four-bedroom design, or vice versa.
