This house, by architect Peter Brachvogel and Stella Carosso, Plan 479-12, is all about connecting with a woodsy, lakeside, or country setting -- with walls of operable windows to capture the view. The two story living-dining area and kitchen and expanses of glass make this small 727 sq. foot home feel much larger than it is. The sleeping loft above the bath and kitchen-dining area shares the view and feels a little like a treehouse. A large glazed canopy and an outdoor fireplace just outside the main space create a welcoming outdoor room for entertaining and relaxing and add to the vacation ambience.

It's a seductive modern getaway that would work well on a lot with a view. And, as the architects state: "If a second bedroom is required it would be fairly easy to add it to the back of the house."
